Abstract
Kalinin Front, Smolensk Oblast, June, 1943. Divisional Commander of the 262nd Infantry Division of the 43rd Army, Major General Zakhary Nikitovich Usachev and [Divisional Commissioner Colonel Vladimir Sergeevich Timofeev] congratulate one of the defenders of the Nameless Hill, platoon commander of the 940th Regiment Alexander Grigorievich Iglovikov with rewarding and presenting him with the Order of the Battle Red Banner. Note: from May 3 to September 16, 1943, the 262nd Infantry Division under the command of Major General Usachev held the defenses on the outskirts of Demidov. The soldiers of the 940th Infantry Regiment for a long time held back the offensive of the Nazis, holding the strategic height Bezymyannaya near the village of Praniki (Gingerbread), for which they were awarded government awards.
