Abstract
The film tells about the Russian village of Shoina, located 600 kilometers from the city of Arkhangelsk on the coast of the Kanin Peninsula. Types of the village, the sea coast, the work of the weather station, houses covered with sand, an interview with the head of the meteorological station, the view of the lighthouse, the village cemetery, children playing on the street of the village, the life of the village residents, women pulling nets with fish, sawing trees, working on timber rafting, cultivating the land on a tractor, a fishing trawler at sea, fishing by fishermen, a view of abandoned longboats, people at the village airfield are waiting for a plane, boarding a plane, an airplane take off, a view of the tundra, interviews with the villagers (synchronously), a motor boat at sea, the women of the village wash in a bath, hunters butcher a seal carcass, a woman makes a reindeer hide, a view of the village of Nenets reindeer herders, fishing with cages from an ice hole, dancing at a disco in the House of Culture. The film uses footage from the chronicle of the Great Patriotic War.
