Abstract
Construction of the Baikal-Amur railway. Workers are working on the highway passing through the Baikal ridge. Tunneling crews are working in the tunnel. Cars loaded with soil leave the tunnel. Explosion of a partition in a tunnel. Tunnelmen congratulate each other, drink champagne from helmets; girls bring workers a loaf of bread, which is decorated with the inscription "Failure". A meeting of workers dedicated to the completion of work on the construction of the tunnel; pioneers greet workers. The foremen of the two tunneling crews YD Bardachenko and VR Tolstoukhov congratulate each other (synchronously). VR Tolstoukhov with his family in the forest. Yu. D. Bardachenko plays the accordion at home. The film includes newsreel footage of the beginning of construction work in the area of the Baikal ridge.
