Abstract
The film is dedicated to the Russian scientist-surgeon, teacher and public figure N.I. Pirogov. Exhibits of the museum-estate of N.I. Pirogov in the Vinnitsa region and the Leningrad military medical museum reveal the life and creative path of the scientist. Scientific works of NI Pirogov: doctoral dissertation, "Surgical anatomy", "Topographic anatomy", "The beginning of military field surgery", "Military medical business". Portraits, letters, art paintings depicting the activities of N.I. Pirogov as a surgeon in military field conditions during the Crimean (1853-1856) and Russian-Turkish (1877-1878) wars; his stay abroad: in Germany, France, Italy. Surgical instruments, medications, personal belongings, orders that belonged to N.I.Pirogov. Medical institutes, hospitals, streets in Moscow, Leningrad, Odessa, Vinnitsa, Kiev, named after NI Pirogov. Moscow city. 27th All-Union Congress of Surgeons (May 23-31, 1960). Present: N. N. Blokhin, P. A. Kupriyanov, B. V. Petrovsky, A. A. Vishnevsky. Professor Rufanov makes a report on N.I. Pirogov.
