Abstract
The film tells about the importance of the book in the life of a modern person. The film stars writers Sergei Sartakov and Andrei Voznesensky. Filming took place in Kuibyshev, Moscow and Leningrad. People of different ages read books in squares and city streets. The girl reads a book in English. Traffic and pedestrian traffic on a city street. The tram is approaching a stop. Boys are playing soccer on the highway. Building of the House of Books in Leningrad. Sellers lay out books in the bookstore's sales area. The townspeople choose books in the street book marketplace, buy newspapers at the kiosk. The building of the State Library of the USSR named after V.I. Lenin; librarians at work in the catalog.
