Abstract
2nd Ukrainian Front, Czechoslovakia, December 27, 1944 Artillery battles for the liberation of the village of Gortva. Commander of the 104th Rifle Corps of the 27th Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, Lieutenant General Alexander Vasilyevich Petrushevsky with the Chief of Staff at the command post. Submachine gunners Sukharev and N.G. Podosov. Horse patrol of scouts under the command of Lieutenant F.A. Khakimova pursues the retreating enemy. The inhabitants of the village joyfully greet the liberators. Sergeant V.A. Oshchepkov talks with a villager Stefan Lubtak. Local resident Vince Arpat leads a bull as a gift to Soviet soldiers. Captain M.P. Meshkov thanks him, refusing the gift. A column of captured Germans and Hungarians is walking along the road.
