Abstract
The film is dedicated to one of the turning points in the development of the communist dictatorship in the USSR, when the leader's heirs were looking for ways to survive and strengthen their power. The pragmatists (A. I. Rykov, N. I. Bukharin) proclaimed a new slogan "building socialism in one separate country", supported by the apparatchiks I. V. Stalin and F. E. Dzerzhinsky. G.E. Zinoviev and L.B. Kamenev, noticing the strengthening of the positions of J.V. Stalin, tried to seize the initiative at the XIV Party Congress. The defeat of G.E.
