Abstract
The USSR Ministry of Culture presents an Honorary Diploma of the Charles Cros French Academy of Gramophone Records to Soviet composer D. Shostakovich and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theater for the recording of the opera "Katerina Izmailova" made at the Melodiya company. The diploma is presented by the head of the Parisian company of gramophone records "Champs du Monde" Jean Roir. Speech at the ceremony by D. D. Shostakovich and General Director of the Melodiya firm N. I. Mokhov. Among those present are the composer R. Shchedrin, the performer of the part of Ekaterina Izmailova in the opera of the same name, the singer E. Andreeva, and others.
