Abstract
Northern Group of Forces, Poland, Lower Silesia, Legnica, August 20-26, 1945 Representatives of all combat arms, army commanders, chiefs of staff, corps and division commanders take part in a scientific conference on summarizing the combat experience of the troops of the 2nd Belorussian Front and battalions. On June 10, 1945, on the basis of the Supreme Command Headquarters directive of May 29, 1945, the 2nd Belorussian Front was reorganized into the Northern Group of Forces. 1 box The conference is attended by: the commander-in-chief of the Northern Group of Forces on the territory of Poland (formerly the commander of the 2nd Belorussian Front), twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal K.K. Rokossovsky and his entourage inspect an exhibition of military equipment - large-caliber mortars, anti-aircraft guns, searchlights, communication equipment, loud-speaking installations and captured large-caliber guns from the Nazis. In a group with K.K. Rokossovsky Lieutenant General A.G. Russians, Colonel General A.K. Sokolsky, Lieutenant General P.M. Kotov-Legonkov, head of the political department of the 2nd Belorussian Front, Lieutenant General A.D. Okorokov, commander of the 5th Guards Cavalry Division, Major General N.S. Chepurkin and others. Marshal K.K. Rokossovsky and Colonel-General of Artillery A.K. Sokolsky in a balloon gondola go up. Excursions for officers are conducted by Colonel-General P.I. Batov and V.S. Popov. 3 box Operator D.G. Sholomovich (shooting on color film). Exhibition of military equipment and weapons of the troops of the 2nd Belorussian Front: "Katyusha", large-caliber artillery, anti-aircraft guns, shells of various calibers, loudspeakers installed on trucks, searchlights, communication vehicles. The balloon lifts into the sky a large portrait of I.V. Stalin. The exhibition is inspected by the participants of the scientific conference of the 2nd Belorussian Front.
