Abstract
The film tells about one of the historical plots of Russian history - about the secret wedding of Empress Catherine II with G. Potemkin and about her political alliance with him. The film uses portraits of Empress Catherine II, Prince G. Potemkin, as well as other political and historical figures of Russia, documents from the funds of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, as well as documents and material monuments of the 18th century from the collections of Russian state museums. The film includes the following filming: views of St. Petersburg, architectural monuments, monuments to historical figures, views of the palace and park ensemble in Peterhof, interiors of the library in the Palace-cottage in Peterhof, interiors of the Chesme and Throne halls of the Grand Palace in Peterhof, interior decoration of the Church of the Savior on the Blood, views of Tsarskoye Selo Park and the Great Catherine Palace, the interior of the Throne Hall of the Palace, a monument to the Millennium of Russia in Novgorod.
