Abstract
The film is based on the events of the winter of 1994-1995 in Chechnya. City Grozniy. The house explodes. War in the city. Militants are shooting. Fires. The wounded are being carried. The road to Grozny. Cars are going by. On the side of the tent of the Russian troops. Broken technique. Distribution of bread from the machine. Chechen patrol. Ruined houses. Everyday life of Russian soldiers: sawing wood, making porridge, having lunch. In the background is the text of a letter from a Russian soldier. Unloading aircraft with humanitarian aid. Column of cars. A group of Frenchmen. Chechen militants are speaking. The funeral of a Chechen. The graves of Russian soldiers. Refugee housing. Refugees give interviews (synchronously). The President of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev is speaking. A stretcher with the wounded is being pulled out of the car. The tent with the wounded. The nurse makes a dressing, puts an IV.
