Abstract
Kalinin Front, Velikiye Luki Region. January 19, 1943 Columns of German prisoners of war taken prisoner by units of the 3rd Shock Army during the defeat of the enemy grouping in Velikiye Luki move across the snow-covered territory, drowning in the snow. Army Commander Major General Kuzma Nikitovich Galitsky, Brigadier Commissar Andrei Ivanovich Litvinov, Major General Ivan Semyonovich Yudintsev are considering an operational map in the battle area. Galitsky talks with the commander of the 277th Infantry Regiment Baron E. von Zass - the commander of the military garrison in Velikiye Luki, who, together with 55 officers, was taken prisoner during the military operation to liberate the city from the Nazis.
