Abstract
Moscow, the Kremlin, the Grand Kremlin Palace; The Column Hall of the House of Unions, which hosted the 1st All-Union Congress of Soviet Artists from February 28 to March 7, 1957. Conference rooms, presidium. Speakers: M. V. Alpatov, S. V. Gerasimov, B. E. Nemensky, A. D. Goncharov, D. A. Shmarinov, I. E. Grabar, B. V. Ioganson, S. M. Chekhov, E. A. Kibrik, A. A. Plastov, E. F. Belashova, M. S. Saryan, A. P. Kibalnikov, S. T. Konenkov and others. Congress welcomed: N. Mikhailov, D. T. Shepilov, E. N. Gogoleva, I. Blanter, Yu Shaporin, L. Knipper and others. The final meeting of the congress on March 7 was attended by the leaders of the CPSU and the Soviet government: M. A. Suslov, V. M. Molotov, L. M. Kaganovich, M. Z. Saburov, D. T. Shepilov, E. A. Furtseva, L. I. Brezhnev, P. N. Pospelov; Chinese artists are taking part in the work of the congress. East Germany, North Korea, Mongolia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania and other countries. Conversations of the congress participants on the sidelines; among them - the artist Yu.M. Neprintsev. Election of the Board of the Union of Soviet Artists (by secret ballot).
