A Path Equal to Centuries

The film tells about the history of the country from 1917 to 1977 and reflects the dynamics of economic, political and cultural development. Shown are large industrial enterprises of the 70s (Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station, Kama automobile plant, automobile plant in Togliatti), mechanized livestock complexes, construction of the Baikal-Amur mainline and the Orenburg-Western border oil pipeline, the Siberia nuclear-powered ship, oil fields in Siberia, agricultural harvesting equipment in the fields, irrigation installations, construction of residential buildings, medical institutions, schools, a meeting of the leaders of the party and government of the socialist countries in Crimea, the European Conference on Security and Cooperation in Helsinki, speech by the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid I. Brezhnev at the 25th Congress of the CPSU. The archival film documents included in the film cover the period from 1917 to 1946 and tell about the revolution, the civil war, the first five-year plans, the elimination of the cultural backwardness of the working people and the development of the Stakhanov movement in industry, the Great Patriotic War and the restoration of the destroyed national economy after war, with the participation of I.V. Stalin, V.M. Molotov, K.E. Voroshilov, M.I. Kalinin.
