The film tells about the history of Tverskaya Street in the city of Moscow from ancient times to the present day. The film is a kind of journey through space and time. The film includes the following filming: modern views of Tverskaya Street along its entire length, a view of buildings on both sides of the street, laying a cobblestone pavement in front of the Iverskaya Chapel, road traffic along the street, the exterior of the building and interiors of the Eliseevsky store, the celebration of the City Day on Tverskaya, a view Strastnoy Boulevard and Pushkin Square. The film uses footage of pre-revolutionary newsreels and chronicles of the 20s - 60s: the movement of horse carriages on Red Square, the solemn passage of members of the reigning Romanov family along Tverskaya during the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanovs, the movement of trams, traffic control on Tverskaya Street, demolition of dilapidated housing on the street, construction of new buildings, dismantling of the Triumphal Arch on Triumfalnaya Square, the Freedom Monument on the former Skobelevskaya Square, views of Tverskaya Street during the Great Patriotic War, moving the monument to A.S.
