Gala evening in the hall of the Vakhtangov Theater, dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of his birth and the fortieth anniversary of the creative activity of the chief director of the theater, People's Artist of the USSR RN Simonov. Minister of Culture N. A. Mikhailov congratulates the hero of the day; on the stage - R.N.Simonov, the wife of E. B. Vakhtangov - N. M. Vakhtangov, directors N. P. Okhlopkov, S. A. Gerasimov, theater artists. The hero of the day is greeted by: representatives of the Moscow Art Theater, artists V. O. Toporkov, A. P. Zueva, P. A. Markov, A. M. Kommisarov, M. N. Kedrov and others; representatives of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, conductor Yu. F. Fayer, artist VF Ryndin and others; representatives of the State Maly Theater: actors N. A. Annenkov, N. A. Podgorny, L. V. Yudina and others; students of the Shchukin Theater School; Academicians A. N. Tupolev and A. A. Arkhangelsky from the scientists of the capital; writer A. V. Sofronov from the Writers' Union of the RSFSR. The hero of the day is greeted by the characters of the performances staged by RN Simonov. RN Simonov speaks back (synchronously).
