Behavior in a Protective Structure

A film about the rules of behavior in protective structures against radioactive contamination. Part I of Leningrad Street with pedestrians. A voice from the loudspeaker of a police car announces (sync.) The radioactive contamination of the area and asks the population to go to the shelter. The guards on the street in protective suits and helmets, with gas masks show the way to the townspeople, isolate the animals, and urge not to push in the crowd. In the shelter, the service group counts those who have taken refuge, seats them in their places (the best ones are allocated for parents with children), report the situation to the commander. The commander of the group on the speakerphone asks (sync.) People to follow the rules of conduct, turns on the city radio broadcast. Panic begins, women and men try to run out into the street, the electricity goes out. The shelter attendants turn on the diesel power plant, calm down the frightened people, ask them not to move or make noise (they turn off and take away the tape recorder from the youth). Part II For two days, homemade food was over in the bunker. The elders in the compartments receive food (a loaf of black bread, butter, canned food) and water at the food point under the supervision of the service team. In the cramped conditions of the shelter, people have difficulty breathing (smoking is strictly forbidden), the inlet ventilation filters are routinely cleaned. In the absence of water, preventive measures are taken to prevent the spread of infection. Discontent and irritation are growing among those sheltered. Older people feel less well. On the third day, the dosimetrist determines the level of radiation in the shelter and outside. The microclimate in the room has worsened, the gas composition of the air has changed. The infirmary is overcrowded with children and older people. On the sixth day, water is distributed only to the sick and children, infectious diseases are detected, and mental disorders begin. The service team leader requests and obtains an evacuation permit. The civil defense exercise is ending.
