Black Mountain

India. The writer Khoja Ahmad Abbas sits with his grandson in his house and tells a story about an elephant nicknamed Black Mountain. A herd of elephants in the pasture. Elephants swim in the river. Family of elephants. The baby elephant plays with monkeys and other animals, walks in the forest. Animals in the jungle: parrots, peacocks, monkeys, panthers, wild boars, ibises, crocodiles, rhinos, bees, deer, eagles, bats, cobra, birds. The tiger hunts for buffaloes. Drought in the jungle: dry forest, dry lake, elephants looking for food and water. Holiday in the village: competitions of rowers in boats, bull sledding, dancing in the square. Enraged by the drought, the elephant attacks the village, killing the girl. Hunting of the villagers for elephants. Elephants in captivity: they are in the corral, loading logs, the drivers are working with the elephants. A boy trains an elephant, rides on horseback through the jungle. Battle of the elephants.
