The authors of the film try to comprehend some of the historical events in Russia in the twentieth century. The film includes the following footage: Mice in an abandoned house. An old mansion in the park. The rays of the sun on the leaves of trees. Abandoned village. Summer, Arbat, a man plays the accordion, a woman with a girl in her arms asks for alms in an underground passage. Photos of the poet S. Yesenin. The film uses newsreel footage: 1917-1920s, winter, people on the street [of Moscow], the autopsy of the saint's relics, demonstrators walking down the street with banners, men smashing the iconostasis, Red Army soldiers on horseback in the city streets; 1980s, Moscow, a demonstration with St. Andrew's flags, flags of Russia is walking down the street, demonstrators pass by the Mausoleum, E.A. Shevardnadze, A.A. Gromyko, N.I. Ryzhkov, G.Kh. Popov, A.N. Yakovlev and others.
