The film is dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union Ts. L. Kunikov, who died during the liberation of Novorossiysk. The film uses domestic and foreign newsreels of the war years, dedicated to the hostilities during the liberation of Novorossiysk, an interview with the Hero of the Soviet Union, Vice-Admiral G. T. Kholostyakov, veterans of the Great Patriotic War who participated in the battles for Novorossiysk. War veterans in Gelendzhik, Malaya Zemlya.
