Carpathians

Educational film about the mountain forest region of Central Europe - the Carpathians. The Carpathian mountain range includes the Western Carpathians with the highest point - Gerlakhov Shtit. The Eastern Carpathians are low, gentle mountains with flat peaks, overgrown meadows (meadows), where sheep graze. In the South Carpathians, with a powerful snow cover, athletes are engaged in ski jumping, vacationers go downhill skiing, sunbathe in the sun. Most of the Carpathian slopes are covered with forests: dwarf pine, yew and beech. Deer, bears, wild boars, fallow deer live in such places. The vegetation is diverse - edelweiss blooms in the highlands, snowdrops and daffodils grow in the foothills. Trout is found in mountain rivers, otters live. Some of the rivers are used for timber floating. To restore the forest, trees are planted. A hydroelectric power plant has been built on the Uzh River. At the foot of the mountains there are villages with gardens, boarding houses for rest, there are tourist routes. In one of the villages there is a wooden church. Uzhgorod is one of the oldest cities in the Carpathians.
