- Abstract
- The film tells about the first Soviet-French expedition to Chukotka under the leadership of the French explorer J. Molari. The film includes filming of the Chukotka village of Uelen, the life and everyday life of the inhabitants of the village, hunting for a whale at sea, butchering a whale on the shore, the work of the masters of the bone carving workshop, and French lessons for the students of the village school under the direction of J. Molari.
