Implementation of the "Comprehensive program of scientific and technological progress of the CMEA member countries until 2000", adopted in December 1985. Electronization of the national economy (the Spektr association and the Hungarian Trakesh cooperative), comprehensive automation (the Rotor inter-branch complex and the Czechoslovak enterprise "Iskra" and others), the development of nuclear energy (Leningrad Association "Izhora Plant", Czechoslovakian concern "Skoda"; and others), new materials and technologies for their production (ceramic plant in Hermsdorf), biotechnology (All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Husbandry, Soviet the Czechoslovak laboratory in Nitra, the laboratory in the GDR, etc.).
