Abstract
General view of the construction of a coke plant in the city of Laogammer. A team of masons is working, underground winches are working. Dr. Bilkendorf, a scientist, laureate of the National Prize, who, together with Professor Dr. Ramler, opened the process of obtaining coke from brown coal, approaches the shift foreman of the coke shop Walter Auke and talks to him (Dr. Ramler is not filmed in the plot). Rally in honor of the opening of the first coke oven; Deputy Prime Minister of the GDR Heinrich Rau is speaking.
