Fidel Castro

On July 5, 1972, in Moscow, during their visit to the USSR, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Prime Minister of the Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba Fidel Castro Ruz and accompanying party and state leaders met with generals, admirals and officers of the USSR Ministry of Defense. Minister of Defense of the USSR Andrei Antonovich Grechko meets the Cuban delegation, conducts F. Castro, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Minister Carlos Rafael Rodriguez to the presidium. Among those present at the presidium - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR and Commander-in-Chief of the Joint Armed Forces of the Warsaw Pact States Ivan Ignatievich Yakubovsky, Head of the Main Political Directorate of the Soviet Army and the Navy Alexei Alekseevich Epishev. F. Castro delivers a welcoming speech. A.A. Grechko speaks back and presents F.Kastro with an honorary military weapon - a saber.
