Kayaks float along the Moscow River. Camp tents of the club of young sailors and polar explorers. 16 young polar explorers on the platform of the station. The head of the North Pole-4 drifting station, Tolstikov, is speaking. The guys go to the Arctic by train, motor ship "Sestroretsk". Captain A. A. Nazariev introduces children to the ship. Storm at sea. The children visited the polar stations Amderma, Ust-Kare, Marre-Some, Dikson Island; ride a reindeer, visiting the village of a reindeer-breeding collective farm, a fur farm. Types of the Yamal Peninsula, Bely Island. On the ice floes, seals, birds. Steamer in the ice. Children collect flowers, sort out collections of plants, minerals, gifts, write down their impressions in a diary.
