Building of the House of Unions. Muscovites say goodbye to L.Z. Mekhlis, whose coffin is installed in the Hall of Columns. Honor guard at the coffin. Among those present: N. A. Bulganin, N. S. Khrushchev, L. M. Kaganovich, M. A. Suslov, N. M. Shvernik, N. A. Mikhailov et al. Removal of the urn with the ashes of LZ Mekhlis from the House of Unions. The funeral procession moves along Red Square. Troops march past the Mausoleum. MA Suslov opens the meeting (sinhr.). Speeches by A.F. Gorkin and I.V. Kapitonov (sinhr.).
