German City Landsberg

1st Belorussian Front, April, 1945 Life of the German city of Landsberg in the rear of our troops. Soviet anti-aircraft artillery guards the port on the Warta River. Civilians under the leadership of the Soviet commandant's office are improving the city. A column of freed French prisoners of war is walking through the city. The Soviet commandant of the city (colonel) talks on the street with Soviet officers, with the burgomaster of the city. An elephant from a traveling circus helps to bring a heavy van into the courtyard of the house.
