The film tells about the life of the daughter of the Swedish king Olaf, who became the wife of the Russian prince Yaroslav the Wise. The film features the following filming: St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev, St. Sophia Cathedral in Novgorod, a destroyed 12th century temple in Sweden (St. Olaf's Church), the graves of Ingegerd's parents, archaeological excavations at the burial site, excavations in Novgorod, parishioners in temple of Eskilstune in Sweden.
