Speech by the Hero of the Soviet Union, polar explorer MM Somov in the studio of the Leningrad Radio Committee. Radio workers are recording sound letters from relatives of polar explorers on a tape recorder to be sent to the North Pole-3 drifting station. Production of prefabricated houses for polar explorers at the Leningrad sawmill "Sovetsky" from special chemical materials. Students of the Leningrad State University are building agricultural facilities on the Shvernik collective farm in the Priozersky District of the Leningrad Region. Production of school textbooks in the shops of the printing house "Printing House". Conveyor with finished books. Sewing school uniforms for schoolchildren in the shop of the Leningrad sewing factory "Komsomolskaya Pravda". The artistic council of the factory approves the samples of the school uniform. International fur auction at the Leningrad Fur Palace. Representatives of foreign firms inspect furs. The chairman of the Soyuzpushnina association Kaplin opens and closes the auction.
