The movie included two plots. First plot. The Shvydko family. A film portrait of the Shvydko working family, whose members have worked at the Ordzhonikidze plant of automotive electrical equipment for 75 years; G.P. Shvydko is a toolmaker, holder of the Order of Lenin, his wife V.V. Shvydko is a winding machine of a generator shop and their daughter Ira is an operator of a machine-counting bureau at their workplaces. Checkpoint of the plant, workers go to work. The territory of the plant, passing trucks. The machines are working in one of the shops. General view of the generator shop. The Shvydko family in their apartment - Valentina Vasilievna cooks in the kitchen, Grigory Yurievich solders, Ira prepares for exams. The tram is passing along the street, in the background there is a checkpoint. Second plot. Master. Story about the master-puppeteer of the Stavropol Regional Puppet Theater G.Yu. Novikov-Dneprov. Grigory Yurievich in the workshop among dolls, making dolls. Fragments from performances, spectators in the hall. Actors go out to bow to the audience. Foyer of the theater, photographs on the walls.
