Onega True Story

The film tells about the life of a northern Russian village and the fate of people. The film includes the following filming: an interview with the former chairman of the collective farm Agapitov (sinhr.), Landscapes of the Arkhangelsk region, views of the village with abandoned houses, the life of the villagers - washing clothes in the river, kindling the stove, stories of villagers about their lives (sinhr.), Classes children in the classroom of an elementary rural school, a view of a village church, the construction of a bridge across the river, the life of residents of the Kargopol boarding house, passengers boarding a steamer, the steamer is sailing along the river. The film uses newsreel footage of the 20s - 50s: the explosion of the church, the work of the rural population in logging, timber rafting on the river, a view of one of the villages on the river bank, hay making by peasants, the view of people sailing on a barge, building a house, recording population on a state loan, a meeting of the board of one of the collective farms, a view of a collective farm herd passing along a village street, a view of a pig farm, loading cans of milk and cows onto a barge.
