The film tells about the recipes for the preparation of various dishes of Russian cuisine. The film includes the shooting: the family dines at a round table in a wooden hut. Women are engaged in household chores: they harvest in the garden, bake a loaf, pancakes, pies, prepare homemade cottage cheese from milk, boil jelly, sorrel cabbage soup, sauerkraut, pickle mushrooms, and prepare other dishes.
