The film is about the spouses - Muscovite Elizaveta Rusina and Czech Gorymir Sheble, who parted in 1942 in Moscow. Gorymir went to serve in the Czechoslovak battalion, where he died a few kilometers from the border of his homeland. 1 part. Elizaveta Ilyinichna Rusina after 30 years is carefully watching the military newsreels, hoping to see her husband. Newsreels show: training of Czechoslovak volunteers; an appeal by the deputy commander of the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Infantry Battalion, Colonel L. Svoboda, to the soldiers; travel through the liberated and jubilant Prague in 1945 by the Hero of the Soviet Union, the commander of the 1st Ukrainian Front, Marshal I.S. Konev with the commander of the 38th Army, Colonel-General K.S. Moskalenko. The son of Gorymir and Elizabeth, like his parents, became a musician. Violinist Miroslav Rusin performs on the stage of the concert hall. Part 2. Newsreel footage: military operations of the Czechoslovak and Soviet soldiers; tanks and soldiers pass the border of Czechoslovakia. Elizaveta Ilyinichna never saw her husband in the cinema.
