The film tells about the events of the summer of 1922 - spring of 1923, connected with the behind-the-scenes struggle in the Politburo of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, aggravated by Lenin's illness. The film presents little-known documents, unique films and photographs that recreate the tense atmosphere of those days when the dictatorship regime, continuing to strike real and fictional enemies, faced a serious internal crisis in the upper echelons of power - the leader's fatal illness and the need for organizational changes. The film is based on the relationship between JV Stalin and VI Lenin, shown in the light of well-known and recently published documents. The film includes the following footage.
