Abstract
The author of the film tells about the Samara Academic Drama Theater. M. Gorky, trying to understand how it differs from the capital's theaters. The artists of the theater V.P. Ottovich-Volovskaya, I.I. Morozov, O. M. Sviridov, L.A. Albitskaya, E.G. Kharitonova and the chief director of the theater P.L. Monastyrsky. Part I. Each of the artists gives their own definition of the concept of a provincial actor. Part II. Many metropolitan actors began their creative life in the provinces. They remember how the career in Moscow of People's Artist of the RSFSR N.N. Zasukhin and People's Artist of the USSR O.I. Yankovsky. Part III.
