The film tells about the village of Verkhny Olonets in / Karelia /, about the inhabitants of the village, about the activities of the Ryabinushka women's club, in which women - members of the club get acquainted with the basics of Christianity, read the Bible, meet and talk with a Finnish Lutheran priest, and sing. The film includes the following filming: views of the village of Verkhny Olonets, the life of the village residents, classes of students in the village school, a meeting of members of the Ryabinushka women's club to study the Bible (sinhr.), A conversation between one of the school teachers with a student and his mother (sinhr.) , the arrival of the Finnish Lutheran pastor in the village, meeting him with women from the village women's club, performing the baptism ceremony, distributing humanitarian aid to the residents of the village and cash payments for the acquired embroidered products, the villagers express their opinion (sinhr.) about the Ryabinushka women's club, in which women are condemned for their passion for religion and, in particular, for their connection with the Lutheran Church; women in a Finnish sauna, children play in the streets of the village, a boy walks through the local cemetery.
