The film tells about the burials at the cemeteries of the Novodevichy, Donskoy and Danilovsky monasteries, at the Vagankovsky and Mitinsky cemeteries in Moscow. The film traces the style and traditions of the Russian tombstone. The film includes the following filming: views of monasteries and adjacent territories, including a cemetery, burials on the territory of monasteries with various tombstones, marble and bronze statues, crosses, chapels, monuments, graves and monuments at the Vagankovsky and Mitinsky cemeteries. Among them are the graves of political figures of the Soviet era, scientists and cultural figures, the burial of Chernobyl victims, etc. The film includes footage from a newsreel of 1919, which depicts the opening of the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
