Safety of Work with Towing Devices

The film illustrates the safety rules for the operation of tugs. Two sailors-trainees on the tug "Stevedore Odessa" are shown how to properly tow a floating crane. After the briefing on deck, the tug sailors wearing life jackets and helmets check the operation of the winch and hook (large steel hook). The transfer of the towing cable with the help of a guide to the other side is carried out in the absence of people on deck. The rope is put on the hook, and the tug starts to move. While a floating crane is being towed, the position of the cable is monitored from the steering booth, while a painting of sailors at work hangs on the wall in the tug cabin. This painting was presented to the captain of the ship by a friend-artist. The trainee sailor tells (sync.) About the mistakes found in the picture: the sailors work without helmets, one has a leg in the loop of the cable, others stand at the bollard (a pair stand for attaching the cable) and the winch closer than it should be, and another sailor smokes when working.
