Salt of the Earth

A film about the life and work of the writer I.S.Sokolov-Mikitov, which includes photographs and documents from the personal archive of the writer, lifetime filming of I.S.Sokolov-Mikitin during an expedition to the Arctic, filming in the I.S.Sokolov House-Museum -Mikitin in Karacharovo, Kalinin region and in Leningrad, where the writer lived, the memoirs of people who knew I.S.Sokolov-Mikitin - the grandson of the writer, associate professor of the Moscow Conservatory A.S. Sokolov, writers O. Volkov, V. Lakshin ( synchronously) and newsreel footage of the 1920s with views of London and Berlin, illustrating the years of emigration of IS Sokolov-Mikitov. The film includes landscapes filmed in the vicinity of Karacharov: a forest, a forest stream, views of the Volga River, a sunset over the forest. Fragments from the works of IS Sokolov-Mikitov "Salt of the Earth", "Childhood", "Sea Stories", "On Warm Ground" are played off-screen.
