Samara Chronicle No 3

The film almanac tells about the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Samara region on June 12, 2001. Residents of Samara, including the head of the territorial administration of the Main Department of Execution and Punishment of the Ministry of Justice for the Samara Region, Viktor Fedorovich Sazonov, lay flowers at the Eternal Flame of the Memorial Complex "Grieving Mother" (1971, sk. P.I.Bondarenko, O.S. Kiryukhin, architect A.B.Samsonov). Brass bands are playing. Parachutists glide in the sky over Glory Square with the Russian flag (tricolor). Concert on the Volga embankment near the Ladya stele (1986, architects A. Yankin, I. Galakhov). Children's and youth choreographic ensembles, a combined chorus of children and adults perform on the stage. The audience applauds, sings along with the speakers. In the evening, the townspeople watch fireworks over the river.
