Test of Land Torpedoes

On July 27, 1943, the first test of land (ground) torpedoes designed at the State Institute of Rocket Technology, headed by the Hero of Socialist Labor, one of the creators of Katyusha rocket launchers, Major General Andrei Grigorievich Kostikov, took place at the Sofrino test site near Moscow. Torpedoes with burning engines sweep across the field at high speed, then explode. Among the torpedo models tested there are torpedoes mounted on skids, on wheels, etc. The staff of the institute Mikhail Pavlovich Khalapsin, Sergei Sergeevich Smirnov and others are preparing torpedoes for testing.
