The Bell

A film about the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Kasym Niyazov from Penjikent (Tajikistan). In memory of the fallen colleagues, he planted a garden on the banks of the river. Each apple tree in the garden is a monument to a front-line soldier. Veteran Kasym Niyazov, who fought in the 1st Belorussian Front, was wounded in the battle for the Dnieper. He says (sinhr., In Tajik. Language) that in those battles almost all of his fellow soldiers were killed, then he vowed, if he survived, to plant a garden in memory of the victims. Once in the fall, a front-line soldier hung a bell (in the Tajik language - zangula) on a branch of an apple tree, and it rang in the wind. Since then, Kasym has not removed the bell - this is the voice of his garden. More than 40 years after the end of the war, a garden has grown on the banks of the Zeravshan, where every year veterans from Tajikistan gather on Victory Day. Former soldiers are sitting under a blossoming apple tree, listening to songs about the war, talking. Kasym's wife Zukhra Berdyevna talks (sync. And behind the scenes, in Tajik. Language) about how difficult it is to plant and grow a tree where there were only stones instead of earth. And when the garden grew, there were people who wanted to take it away from Kasym. And only the intercession of fellow villagers helped to leave the garden. Now it is called "Kosimobad" ("Kasym's place"), and the veteran works in it as a gardener. The pioneers come to help grandfather Kasym, they dig in trees. The last, 39th, Kasym and his grandson planted a tree recently. Fellow soldier Philip Makarovich from Ukraine died.
