The Long Night of Menachem Beilis

Chronicle-documentary, feature-publicistic film about the problems of anti-Semitism in pre-revolutionary Russia, interethnic relations in the Soviet Union, Russia. The film uses materials from the State Film Fund and the State Archive of Film and Photo Documents (RGAKFD). The film includes: fragments of the 1917 Beilis Trial, interviews with G. Starovoitova, V. Zhirinovsky, D. Vasiliev (synchronously and off-screen), documentary footage dedicated to the Beilis trial, filmed by the Pathé cameramen. Chronicle of the period of the Civil War in Russia: 1919 L. Mokievskaya, IS Kozhevnikov at the carriage of an armored train, the funeral of L. Mokievskaya and other shots. Chronicle footage: population census in the Caucasus; honoring the Kazakh poet Jambul; the commissioner describes property in one of the houses in Central Asia, arrests the owner of the house; demonstration on Red Square, on the podium: MI Kalinin, IV Stalin, KE Voroshilov; the arrival of Jewish settlers in Palestine in the 1920s - 1930s, kibbutzim, sheep grazing, footage of the chronicle dedicated to Jewish settlers in Palestine; concentration camp during the Second World War; members of the Anti-Fascist Jewish Committee sign an appeal to the Jews of the Soviet Union; footage of the chronicle dedicated to the State of Israel in 1948-1950s; footage of the chronicle of the war in Palestine; L.
