The film tells about portraits of women painted by Russian artists: Levitsky, Borovikovsky, O. Kiprensky, K. Bryullov, A. Venetsianov, P. Sokolov. The film uses filming of famous female portraits made by the above-named artists: portraits of Lvova, E. Khovanskaya, the Gagarin sisters, E. Avdulina, E. Rastopchina, D. Khvostova, N. Kochubei, A. Olenina, Shcherbatova, M. Filosova, E. Saltykova, Y. Samoilova, A. Muravyova, M. Volkonskaya, N. Pushkina and others. The film includes the following filming: views of St. Petersburg, the interiors of the building of the Academy of Arts, views of the Gatchina park, halls of the Russian Museum. The film uses fragments of the films "War and Peace" and "The Captivating Star of Happiness".
